A collection of rare and unusual sports memorabilia, some of it auctioned off at auction in Las Vegas, has landed in a Houston warehouse.
Sam’s Club, which was founded by Sam Dickson in 1958, is one of the most popular sports memoracies in the country.
Its most recent sale, in July, brought in $1.6 million, bringing the company’s total sale to $2.3 million, according to auction records.
A lot of the proceeds will go to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston.
The collection includes sports memorasies such as a Sam Dixons helmet and the Super Bowl MVP jersey, Sam’s nameplate, and a Sam’s club jacket.
The auction includes a Sams Club “Mens Lounge” where the company sold some of the memorabilia.
There are also memorabilia from the Houston Rockets, which are part of the Houston Texans franchise.
The sale of the Sams club jackets was the largest single sale of Sams memorabilia in the city, according the auction records, but that sale also brought in the most money.
Sams Club has raised more than $50 million in private donations, according its website.
