Akron auto auction to host $2 billion auction with auctioneer Neill Harness

Akron, Ohio (AP) An auctioneer for the Akron Auto Auction will auction off more than $2.6 billion worth of cars, trucks and other automotive items, the Akron Beacon Journal reported Friday.

Harrell, who has been working for the city of Akron for 25 years, said the auction will be held on Aug. 10 and the proceeds will be used to fund transportation infrastructure.

He said the items will be auctioned at a separate auction, including an auction house in Washington, D.C., on Oct. 10, 2020, and the sale of the city’s historic City Hall in Columbus, Ohio, on Jan. 2, 2021.

Harry is one of the organizers of the Akron auto auctions, which have attracted millions of dollars in revenue.

The city of Columbus has hosted a few auto auctions.
